Raccoons are a nuisance in St, Clair County, Michigan

St. Clair County, Michigan wants to know how to get rid of raccoons:

One month ago, we heard noise in the ceiling, sounds like squirrel/ raccoon running around and scratching, also heard sounds like bird. One company came and sealed the hole on the roof and we did not hear noise after that. After a few weeks, found bad smell in the bathroom and closet. Many flies are found in the living room. As temperature is higher, more and more flies are found come out from the ceiling lights. A second company came and said that it may be due to the dead baby raccoon. But they can not find the location of the animals. The possible location is in the wall close to the closet where the bad smell is very strong. But they are not sure. Mela J.

There are four raccoons living in the attic of my home. Two large and two babies. Debbie C.

I have raccoons in my attic. The entry points, at least 2 that I know of, are visible and obvious. I don\\\\\\\'t know how many and I\\\\\\\'ve only seen 1, once. I have closed up, at least 3 other, of what I now know to be entry points. I can hear them right before is starts getting dark scratching from the outside of my house. I am certain they have been in there for 2 maybe 3 seasons. Mark S.

I have family of raccoons (2 adults, 4 or 5 young) that has been invading my property for about a year. They eat all of my cats’ food and muck up their water bowls.  Not only that but they come into my garage and rip everything up!

-Lisa M.

I sat in the living room and watched a raccoon climb through my doggy-door.  It put one paw in at a time, then took off across the kitchen and down the stairs to the basement.  Well I can’t let my dog pee inside so the doggy-door has to stay, but without a doubt this raccoon has to go.  It has tried to break into my pantry and I’m not going to watch it succeed!

Questions about Bats

My mom and dad\'s house has had a bat problem for years in their attic. The insulation I believe is contaminated and the bats just keep returning. Unfortunately, my dad recently passed away and we do not know why. I know that bat poop is harmful and I am hoping someone can come take a look to see if the attic is contaminated and needs to be cleaned out. The bats continue to return also.

Bat droppings can contain Histoplasmosis which is caused when you breathe in airborne fungus from an area with bat droppings.  Any area that holds guano is at risk for this which is why it is so vital to expel bats from homes safely, and to disinfect the areas where they lived.  It is possible that the insulation will need to be completely replaced depending on the severity of the problem.  As for the removal of the bats, you would need to coordinate their removal with a professional and the DWR (they are protected animals).  It can be a tricky process, but it’s a process that you’ll need to go through to ensure the bats don’t/can’t come back.

We resolve many types of wildlife control conflicts in St. Clair County and surrounding areas. Give me a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

The situations we resolve and main trapping and removal services we provide are: raccoon families in attics and chimneys, woodpeckers drilling siding. mud swallow nests on stucco, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, voles and gophers destroying lawns, skunks stealing pet food, bat infestations, and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their commotion and smell. Raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that I and my professional wildlife removal operators are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. St, Clair County, Michigan has Skunk Problems

If you have skunk problems, you are not alone in St. Clair County, Michigan

We have a mother and 5 baby skunks under a 10x5 slab by our house. John M.

We had left the garage side door open one night and a skunk has moved in. We saw it in the garage, but now it must be hiding behind boxes since we can still occasionally smell it. We would like this one skunk to be removed. Suresh R.

I have had skunks in my neighborhood for a couple of years, now they are coming into my yard areas and having conflicts with my 2 dogs. One spraying so far but the confrontation has not deterred the skunk(s) from continuing into the yard. William H.

My daughter got sprayed by a skunk yesterday. She went to turn on the water for our garden and it was trapped in the window well and sprayed when she bent down.  I have a furious daughter AND a skunk and I sure can’t deal with both.  Help?

-Ted P.

I leave my garage door open a smidge for my cats but a few nights ago my husband and I woke up and could smell skunk.  Well sure enough when I went out to feed the cats this morning there was a skunk sitting right in the middle of the garage.  I don’t want it spraying anymore! It\'s one thing to smell a skunk but it’s totally different to live with the smell of skunk!
